2. How do I become a new patient?
A. Follow these steps:
- We are a mature practice founded in 2012 with over 5,000 patients
- Having reached this milestone we can only accept new patients by releasing old ones
- Old patients are released when we do not see them for over 2 years
- Some months we have 3 spots, some months 5, some months none
- It is MANDATORY for all New Patient to read "Policies"

- We will call you back as soon as we get the approval from your insurance
3. Do you take Self-Pay patients?
A. We do not.
- We are a Primary Care Practice accepting 6 major insurances
- If we do not accept your plan
- We recommend using ZocDoc.com to find a Physician who does
- They also have an option exclusively for Self-Pay patients
4. Why does your practice require all patients to wear a mask while in your office?
A. Because we see patients with contagious respiratory conditions, such as:
- Adeno viruses
- Bronchitis
- Colds
- Corona viruses
- Coughs
- Covid
- Flu
- Pneumonia
- Rhino viruses
- Strep Throat
- Respiratory Syncytial Virus
For the well being of our staff and all our patients:
- Masks are not not an option
- They are mandatory
5. Does anyone in the office speak Spanish?
A. No.
6. Are all late appointments really cancelled after 10 minutes?
A. Yes. Our name is "On Time Medical Care" for a reason.
7. How long has your Attending Family Physician been practicing medicine?
A. Dr. Coker has been a Physician since June 2000.
8. Do you offer Flu and Covid-19 vaccines?
A. Yes and No.
- We do give out the yearly flu vaccine starting in October every year
- We do not carry the Covid-19 vaccine due to lack of appropiate storage
- Dr. Coker highly advices all her patients to get both yearly
9. How long do I have to complete lab work?
A. 90 days.
- These include: Blood Work, X Rays, Scans, MRIs, Ultrasound, CT Scans, etc.
- If not completed in 3 months Patient/Practice relationship is terminated
10. How long do I have to return for follow-up care if my results are ABNORMAL?
A. It depends on the severity:
- If they are URGENT you must be seen the same day we call you to return
- If they are ABNORMAL you have up to 2 weeks from when we call you to return
- Refusing to return within 2 weeks will terminate Patient/Practice relationship
11. Why was my prescription refill request denied?
A. Because your last physical was more than a year ago.
- If you need them right away call 305-392-0449
- Ask for a next day meds refill visit
12. I need a recommendation (referral / prescription / script / authorization) to see a specialist.
Can Dr. Coker just write me one?
A. No.
- You must schedule an in-office CONSULTATION visit
13. I was terminated for non payment after one year of my visit. Can you reconsider?
A. No.
14. Why are NEW patients required to have voicemail, text, and email?
A. Lab results and follow up care can be extremely time sensitive.
- Not having all 3 will disqualify you from becoming a patient
15. Why do patients have to call from the same phone number that is on their medical chart?
A. To make sure your information is not given to someone pretending to be you.
16. Can I give my husband/wife/parent/secretary/significant other full authority over my medical records and to schedule my appointments?
A. No.
- If you are an adult who wants someone else to handle your medical care
- We are not the practice for you
17. Does your practice do "Executive Physicals"?
A. No.
18. My last physical was less than a year ago; can I schedule one with you now?
A. No.
- They must be 365 days apart
- Even if it was done by a different Doctor and with a different insurance
19. I came in for my FREE yearly physical and it got billed as a consultation. Can you resubmit it?
A. No.
- A Physical and a Consultation cannot be done on the same day
- If in the middle of a Physical you start discussing any symptoms
- It stops being a Physical and it turns into a Consultation
- To resubmit it as a Physical would be fraud
20. How do I get my lab results?
A. Go to your app store:
- Download the "MyQuest for Patients" app
21. I have lab work from a different doctor that I want you to review, can you bill this visit as a physical?
A. No.
- A visit to go over labs is a Consultation
- To bill it as a Physical would be fraud
22. Do you have a HIPAA compliant email?
A. Yes.
- Our HIPAA compliant email is office@OnTimeMedicalCare.com
- It is only used to upload medical documents
- It does not provide personal correspondence
